Setting up Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Connection with Rose Rocket

A Step-by-Step Guide to Connecting Business Central with Rose Rocket

Overview

A quick overview on how to connect Rose Rocket with a single Business Central company.

What you need to set up your account:

  1. An existing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central subscription
  2. Your Microsoft Tenant ID, follow these instructions (Link) to find it
  3. The Microsoft Company ID you want to connect to, this can be changed after
  4. The name of the Environment you want to connect
  5. Admin access to Business Central to approve the connection

Step 1. Add Rose Rocket's Integration App on Business Central

  • Copy Rose Rocket's Client ID listed here ee3ed548-42b9-4fe5-959e-13e735988052
  • Add a new Microsoft Entra Application with the copied Client ID and give it a name such as "Rose Rocket Connection"
  • Enable the App and add "D365 FULL ACCESS" as a permission

Step 2. Add your Tenant ID & Company ID in Rose Rocket and Grant permissions

  • Go to Settings > Financial Settings > Accounting >Integrations to continue setting up the integration in Rose Rocket.
  • Provide your Microsoft Tenant ID directly within Rose Rocket, usually apart of your business central URL
  • Provide your Microsoft Company ID directly within Rose Rocket
    • This can be found by going to https://businesscentral.dynamics.com/<INSERT YOUR TENANT ID>/<INSERT YOUR ENVIRONMENT>/?table=2000000006
    • Copy the ID of the company you want to connect
  • Provide the name of the Microsoft Environment directly within Rose Rocket, this can often be found in the Business Central URL as well Ex: Production/Sandbox, etc...

  • Then grant permissions to Rose Rocket using the Connect button, this requires a Business Central Admin user
  • Once you're connected refresh the page to see the connection status

Step 3. The integration & customizations

By default, you can create/update data one way from Rose Rocket to Business Central for the following objects: 

  • Customer -> Customer
  • Partner -> Vendor
  • Invoice -> Sales Invoice
  • Bills -> Purchase Invoice

The integration also supports the syncing of balances of posted sales invoice back into Rose Rocket invoices.

Syncs can be triggered with widgets and board buttons through different objects but can also be triggered by automations. Rose Rocket's Business Central integration is highly configurable to suit your business needs, reach out to your Account Executive and the Rose Rocket support team to learn more.
