Setting Up your Fuel Surcharges

Build out a Fuel Table view with all of your applicable Fuel Surcharges to easily assign a fuel surcharge to a rate/tariff.

See below for our step by step guide on how to set up a Fuel Surcharge:

1. Go to the Rating module and select Fuel table.

2. Click on "Create fuel table".

3. Enter a name for your fuel surcharge.

4. Select the "Fuel Index". These fuel indexes are currently being pulled from the EIA. Coming soon, they will also be pulled from the FCA. See more in our "Fuel Index" Help Centre Article here.

5. Click on "Save".

6. Following that, click on "Manage breakpoints".

7. After, click on "Create breakpoint".

8. Select the breakpoint (min and max $ amount) that the fuel price could be in order for the Fuel Surcharge to be applied. Example: if Fuel Price is between $4 and $4.10 (breakpoint) then apply a 30% surcharge. You are able to make these breakpoints very specific like the example above or broad like $0-$10. Remember, the true Fuel Price is being pulled from the Fuel Index.

9. Indicate whether this will be a per mile rate or a percentage rate.

10. Enter your rate.

11. Click on "Save".

12. Your Fuel Rate has been created. Click on Fuel Table to see all of your Fuel Surcharges.

13. Your "Fuel Table" can now be applied to any Customer or Partner Rates/Tariffs you build.

These Fuel Tables (surcharges) can then be associated with a customer or partner rate/tariff in order to automatically add the fuel surcharge. Learn how to build customer rates/tariffs, here.
