Setting Up Customer Rates/Tariffs

Build your pre-negotiated customer rate/tariff tables in Rose Rocket to auto-rate orders.

Building your customers rate/tariff tables in Rose Rocket saves you time by auto-rating orders, so you no longer have to manually reference and look up rates on an Excel sheet (or anywhere else where rates are stored).

Additionally, they prevent errors that may occur if someone reads a rate sheet incorrectly.

See below for our step by step guide on how to set up your rates/tariffs.

1. Go to the Ratings Module on the left and select the Tariffs Board.

2. Select "Create Tariff" on the top right.

3. Fill out the Tariff details.

4. Select the Fuel Surcharge that will be added to this Tariff. Please see this Help Article on setting up your Fuel Surcharges.

5. Next, we need to set up the Tariff dimensions.

*Currently, our rating engine supports full truck load flat rates. Coming soon you will be able to built less than truck load rates as well.

6. Enter your full truck load dimensions. For example 0-44,000 lbs is accepted as our full truckload. This means if you put in an order, no matter what, the rate will hit as long as it's within 0-44,000 lbs.

7. Now, set up your Lanes. This will determine from where to where does the tariff apply.

8. Select create lane. Name the lane anything you'd like, and then input the origin and destination.

9. Then input minimum cost, maximum cost, minimum time and maximum time if applicable.

10. Lastly, put in the rate for that lane.

To apply the tariff to a particular customer, follow the steps below:

1. Click on "Customers".

2. Click on the customer you want to apply a tariff onto.

3. On the right hand data panel - scroll down to Tariffs.

4. Click on the empty space and select the tariff you want to apply to that customer.

5. Click on "Save".
