Carrier Compliance: FMCSA Integrated Carrier Directory

The Carrier Directory Board is a powerful tool that allows brokers and shippers to find, evaluate, and onboard FMCSA-verified carriers. This directory provides essential data, such as licensing, insurance, fleet details, and safety ratings.

Step 1: Access the Carrier Directory Board

  1. Navigate to the Partners Module:
    • Log into your Rose Rocket account.
    • Go to the Partners module in the main navigation menu.

The Carrier Directory Board is available for Rose Rocket users with Partners - Tier 2 plan. Contact your account representative or hello@roserocket.com for more details.

2. Open the Carrier Directory Board:
    • Select the Carrier Directory board under the Partners module. This will display all FMCSA-verified carriers.


Step 2: Search for a Carrier

  1. Use the Search Bar:
    • Enter keywords such as carrier name, DBA name, DOT number, or MC ID to locate a specific carrier.

  1. Apply Filters:
    • Use available filters to narrow down your search based on specific criteria, such as safety ratings or fleet size.


Step 3: Evaluate Carrier Information

  1. Open Carrier Details:
    • Click on a carrier’s name to view detailed FMCSA data, including:
      • Licensing and insurance information
      • Safety ratings
      • Fleet details
  2. Assess Suitability:
    • Review the carrier’s data to ensure they meet your load requirements, including compliance with necessary certifications and safety standards.


Step 4: Add a Carrier as a Partner in Rose Rocket

  1. Add Single Carrier:
    • From the carrier’s detail page, click Add as Partner. This action converts the carrier into a partner you can assign loads to.

2. Add Multiple Carriers:
    • Select multiple carriers from the directory and use the Add as Partner (#) option to onboard them in bulk.

3. Review Partner Records:
    • The added carriers will now appear in your Partners board with pre-filled details from the FMCSA data.

Step 5: Manage Partner Details in Rose Rocket

  1. Edit Partner Information:
    • Key FMCSA data, such as contact details, addresses, and safety ratings, will be mapped to the new partner’s profile. These fields are view-only. To customize your Partner Profile's view, head to Settings -> Object Builder -> Partner. 

2. Sync Updates:
  • When FMCSA-linked fields, such as DOT numbers, are updated, will automatically sync when updates are made in the directory. The  Last Synced fields will tell you when the data was last updated.  

Key Features of the Verified Carrier Directory

  • Comprehensive Data:
    • Access FMCSA data, including company snapshots, licensing, insurance, and safety metrics.
  • Seamless Integration:
    • Convert FMCSA carriers into partners with ease, ensuring all information is stored in one place.
  • Real-Time Updates:
    • FMCSA fields in partner profiles are synced automatically based on the DOT number.

Limitations and Notes

  • Geotab Data: Geotab data integration is not yet available but will be added in future updates.
  • FMCSA Filters: FMCSA fields cannot currently be used to filter results within the Partners board.
  • No Widgets: The directory does not support widget-based actions.
