Linear Feet Calculation

Rose Rocket calculates linear feet in a specific way, and this article will provide a better understanding of how to rate your shipments based on this calculation

Tip: Rose Rocket's linear feet calculation is based on a 48" x 48" (L x W) pallet. Anything above 50" in width will group your shipment to the next linear feet category

Here's how linear feet is calculated in the Commodities section of your Order:
  • For 1-50" width: 1 LF per 24" of length
  • For 51" width and greater: 2 LF per 24" of length

Note: Currently stacked pallets are not automatically considered or accounted for and height does not affect this calculation. However, you can always override the values with your own to account for stackable freight or other unique circumstances

The following table can be used for reference during the order entry process:

Note: In this initial implementation of linear feet calculation, the value calculated is for informational purposes. It does not currently tie back into rating just yet. We're looking to build that functionality in subsequent releases, and will update this page when any potential changes are made to the software
