      Samsara - Integration Setup

      Continue reading to learn more about how to set up your Rose Rocket and Samsara integration.

      This integration uses GPS data from Samsara ELDs to map the last known location of your vehicles, making them visible on manifests and orders.

      Driver availabilities and break requirements (where applicable) displayed right on your manifests.

      How do I set up my Samsara Integration?

      1. Go to the ‘Integrations’ page.
      2. Select the Samsara ELD tile.
      3. Select ‘Enable Integration’. 
      4. Find your Samsara API Token. Head into your Samsara account, go to Settings > Developers > API Tokens (shown below)

      Pro tip: Make sure that your API token has the following scopes:
      - Drivers (Read and Write)
      - Equipment (Read and Write)
      - Vehicles (Read and Write) 

      To edit your scopes, click on “Edit”.

      5. Add your Samsara API Token into Rose Rocket and Save.

      How do I import vehicles from Samsara into Rose Rocket?

      1. In the Integrations page, select the ‘Import Data’ button in the top right-hand corner. 
      2. Rose Rocket will take your vehicle data from Samsara and create profiles for them automatically in Rose Rocket. Equipment profiles can be found in the ‘Equipment’ page.
      3. Rose Rocket will confirm what data was imported from Samsara. If a profile has already been imported, Rose Rocket will decline it so it doesn’t duplicate.

      Note: We only import active vehicles (trailers and drivers will not import over) 

      How do I link my equipment to Samsara

      Equipment in Rose Rocket is linked to Samsara by name. To sync equipment location ensure that your equipment name is an exact match (characters and case) to Samsara. 

      Note: The syncing may take up to an hour to complete. If you do not see location information right away check again in the next hour. 

      How do I link my drivers to Samsara

      Drivers in Rose Rocket are linked to Samsara by name. To sync drivers location ensure that your drivers name is an exact match (characters and case) to Samsara.
