Driver Pay Templates

How to set up and use driver pay templates.

For accounts with the payroll module, you can set driver pay templates for different types of work or drivers, so that contracted rates can be easily applied to a manifest and help to quickly calculate the pay, making driver settlement easier for your back office team.

What Type of Pay Templates Can I Create?

Templates by Driver

You can create unique pay templates per driver or for a group of drivers by setting the name & description of the template accordingly so you know which one to select for the manifest. (For example: "Base Pay per Mile - Driver Betty").

Templates by Pay Type

Templates can be based on various driver pay types including flat rate, pay per unit, pay per mile or a percentage. Here’s a few things you should know for each pay type:

  • Pay per unit, per mile and flat rates will be applied to the manifest as the rate, and the quantity will have to be manually entered (with the exception of “pay per mile,” where the miles will be automatically pulled in from the manifest).
  • For templates with percentage as the pay type, the percentage will be applied to the manifest as the quantity and you will have to manually enter the rate that the percentage should be applied to.

Templates for Recurring Deductions

You can also select the "Deductions" pay type when creating a pay template if you need to apply recurring deductions (such as insurance costs). When inputting driver pay, you would apply the deduction pay template to the manifest, saving you time from manually checking the rate and inputting it. Deductions will be applied to the manifest as a negative number.
