Customize how you track and manage commodity information on your orders, quotes, and manifests. Whether you're moving dry vans, reefers, flatbeds, or specialized freight, you can now control which commodity fields are visible and relevant.
This feature helps you streamline your operations by hiding fields you don’t use, adding new ones, and rearranging your layout to match the kind of freight you move.
What You Can Do with Customizable Commodity Fields
✅ Add custom fields (e.g. Model Number, VIN, Bin Location, Commodity Class)
✅ Remove or hide fields you don’t need (e.g. Length, Width, Quantity)
✅ Rearrange columns to match your workflow
✅ Create different views for different shipment types (LTL, truckload, auto, etc.)
✅ Pin a “default view” that shows up every time
✅ Use the same structure across orders, quotes, and manifests
When and Where This Is Useful
-
LTL Shipments: Break out fields for class, pallet count, or handling instructions
-
Auto Transport: Only show vehicle model, VIN, and weight
-
Flatbed or Tanker: Add volume in liters, remove irrelevant weight/quantity fields
-
Retail Loads: Include SKU, bin location, and commodity type
This is especially useful for brokers and carriers who move different types of freight and want to make sure every team member sees only the most relevant info for the job.

Example: Set Up for Auto Freight
Instead of generic fields like “Quantity” or “Commodity Type,” you can build a view like this:
Field Name | Example Value |
---|---|
VIN | 2FMDK4KC5BBA12345 |
Model | Ford Edge |
Weight (lbs) | 4,300 |
Bin Location | A-02 |
Then, for truckload freight, set up a simpler view showing only weight and description.
