How It Works
With just a few simple clicks, users can easily assign an asset to a trip.
-
Open the Order
Navigate to the order you want to assign an asset to. -
Click on the "Select assets" Widget
Within the order, open up the asset widget. -
Select an Asset from the Dropdown
For accounts that have the Assets Module enabled, users can only assign assets that are currently available, which will be indicated by color-coded text. In contrast, accounts without the Assets Module will display all assets in the dropdown menu, regardless of their availability status.-
Black text = available and ready to assign
-
Grey text = currently assigned to another trip at overlapping times (conflict noted)
-
-
Assign the Asset
Once you have selected your assets, click "Save".
Use Case Examples
-
A dispatcher assigns a company-owned trailer to a long-haul shipment after verifying its availability.
-
A fleet coordinator sees a conflict for a reefer unit and adjusts the trip time to resolve the overlap.
-
A user without the Assets Module selects an asset manually without visibility into scheduling conflicts.
Best Practices
-
Review the availability status in the dropdown before assigning.
-
Name assets clearly (e.g., “Truck 104 – Reefer”) to make selections easier.
-
Avoid double-booking by checking the manifest schedule before assigning.
Common Issues & Troubleshooting

Yes, you can assign multiple assets to one order.
Why don’t I see any assets in the dropdown?
You will only see them if you have previously created these assets.
Can I still assign a greyed-out asset?
