Adding A New Driver

Learn how to create and manage driver profiles. Adding drivers ensures accurate assignment, communication, and tracking—while keeping your operations connected.

Description Summary

Creating a driver profile in Rose Rocket allows you to connect drivers to your orders, tracking, and mobile app. Drivers can be added manually or in bulk, and choose when to invite them to start using the platform.

How It Works

  1. Navigate to the Drivers Module
    From the left-hand sidebar, click Drivers.
  2. Click “Create Driver”
    This opens the new driver creation form.

  3. Choose Your Invite Method
    Input either a phone number or email address based on your preferred method, and then press the Enter key to proceed.

  4. Enter Driver Information
    Input the driver’s First Name and Last Name.

  5. (Optional) Check the box to send invites to driver(s) immediately upon creation
    Drivers will receive a link via SMS or email once the profile is created. 
  6. Click "Create"
    Once created, the driver will appear in your Drivers list.
  7. (Optional) Add More Drivers in Bulk
    You can invite up to 20 drivers at once, significantly minimizing the time needed to create individual driver profiles.


Should you prefer not to send an invitation to the driver immediately upon profile creation, you have the option to manually trigger the invite at a later time. To do so, access the driver’s profile, click on the three dots located in the top right corner, and select "Resend Invite."

Use Case Examples

  • A dispatcher adds a new owner-operator to the fleet and sends the invite immediately.

  • A carrier admin prepares driver profiles in bulk, choosing to send invites later during onboarding week.

Best Practices

  • Confirm contact info before sending an invite to avoid bouncebacks.

  • Specify the driver type (e.g., company driver or owner-operator).

Common Issues & Troubleshooting

My driver didn’t receive the invite—what should I do?

Open the driver's profile and click on the 3 dots in the top right corner to select Resend Invite. Alternatively, navigate to the Drivers module, check the box next to the driver you want to resend the invitation to, and a "Resend Invite" button will appear. Before proceeding, ensure that the driver's phone number or email address is accurate.


How to delete driver profiles?

While it is not possible to delete driver profiles, you can remove them from active status by setting their status to deactivated on the Drivers board.


Why can't I update the driver phone number or email address fields?

Currently, the phone number and email address fields cannot be modified directly. You will need to deactivate the existing driver profile and create a new profile with the updated details.
